Cool, government troops in bunny suits!Summary: In short this movie is about the theft, from a secret government facility, of an extremely dangerous nerve gas. The theft is of course violent, and during the running battle (and attempted escape) by the surviving thief, the gas escapes from its case.

Soon we have zombie’ish incidents occuring all over the island (whatever island it is, I was never 100% on that). We now flash to three soldiers on leave (in BDUs and in a military vehicle) who are busy goofing off, they come to the aid of a number of young women in a RV who have come under attack by zombie birds (Nope, not kidding!).

Seeking help they end up at an abandoned hotel (the source of the original outbreak of this zombie plague), and they try to come to terms with what is going on in their little world.

Fortunately they come across a cache of weapons (does everyone in these movies find assault rifles?) and they try to barricade themselves into the hotel as a haven from the zombies. The zombie assault is (as always) unstoppable, and the group is forced to flee into the night.

Naturally numerous scenes are spent giving us the impression that the government forces are losing the fight against the zombies, and our heroes are whittled away ony by one, until only two reach a helicopter and make their escape, leaving the island to be over run with the living dead (or at least we presume so, the zombie DJ is a pretty big hint…no?)

Critique: This is one of my least favorite zombie films, it’s more of a zombie collage really. The acting is horrible (even for a zombie film), the pacing is bad, the internal logic is fuzzy, and frankly I didn’t care if the good guys got eaten or not.

Zombie stabbed in the throat??? You idiot, the HEAD, not the throat!

It IS a zombie movie, but it’s a film that seeks to cash in on the success of these films, and doesn’t bring anything new or inovative to the genre. Basically, grab it if it’s really cheap and theres nothing else there.

…and maybe, just maybe, not even then.

If you’re going to spend the money on this DVD then buy one of the classic Zombie films, and leave this one for a desperation purchase.

Yeah!
